Volunteering

I volunteer for the Chinese Heritage Foundation for many of the events they host. CHF helps people find the Chinese community in the Twin Cities and involves them in Chinese Cultural activities. They help to spread cultural understanding.

Yinghua Academy is a k-8 school that I attended. Over the summer, they offer a 2 week Chinese immersion summer camp/summer school program. I volunteered as a teacher's helper for sessions during the summers of 2023 and 2024. Every day was 8 hours long, and the camp was 5 days a week for 2 weeks.

This city-funded track program is available to all Minneapolis kids. I assisted in coaching kids ages 9 to 13 in their running activities, and I led long distance runs for kids competing in distance events. During the spring track season, I attended 2 practices a week. I volunteered for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Scots Squad is a program that all 9th graders participate in at Highland. It helps freshman get to know each other and those in grades above them. As upperclassman volunteers, we host activities during and after school, like game day or movie night. We get to know new students before the school year starts, and we host freshman orientation.
